THE UNTOLD STORY.
OUR WORLD TRADE CENTER ART exhibition WAS a unique opportunity to view and interact with culturally significant artwork, while supporting OUR INTERNATIONAL humanitarian worKS. Curated by Stephanie Zabriskie.
ONCE IN A LIFETIME.
In an unprecedented opportunity, two respected leaders of Maasai society, Paulo Makutian Molell and Rokoine Diwani, embarked on a journey, leaving their remote villages in the Tanzania to visit the United States for the first time.
THE UNTOLD STORY
"The Untold Story" is a fine art exhibition curated by Stephanie Zabriskie at the NYC Culture Club inside the Oculus at the World Trade Center in New York City. The exhibit explores the relationship between fame, anonymity, and representation in African culture, with a focus on the Maasai people, and features art that benefits Humanculture’s Maasai Water Project.
The exhibit delves into the complex relationship between fame, anonymity, and representation within the context of African culture, particularly the Maasai people. It highlights their fashion, art, and traditions while also exploring how anonymity allows cultural heritage to survive unadulterated.
Our exhibition seeks to celebrate and honor the rare opportunity we have to showcase the beauty, richness, and complexity of Maasai culture through the lenses of our featured artists. One of the most special aspects of this exhibition is our Maasai leaders (Paulo and Diwani) visiting New York, allowing for a deeper public understanding of their points of view.
Paulo and Diwani share their personal stories and perspectives, providing a glimpse into their traditions, beliefs, and way of life. This exhibition is a powerful celebration of the Maasai people, their culture, and their contributions to the world.
